Announced or conditional changes

The province announced a Churchill River Electricity Rebate of 15% on the first 2,000 kWh used monthly by residential ratepayers, conditional on finalized definitive agreements. Implementation details remain to be provided.

The percentage scenarios above do not apply a rebate. The separate planning illustration requires an optional eligible energy charge; an average dollar amount alone cannot establish eligibility or eligible usage.

What remains uncertain

Future bills depend on future rate decisions, policies, household electricity use and other system changes. None of the percentages in this tool predicts those changes.

How this works

We start with the average monthly bill you entered. We apply your selected percentage to that amount and show the monthly and annual dollar difference. These are mathematical illustrations, not predictions of future electricity rates.

See methodology and sources

Scenario monthly bill = your average monthly bill × (1 + percentage change ÷ 100). Annual equivalents are monthly amounts × 12. Differences compare the scenario with your entered baseline.

Calculations use exact integer arithmetic. Each final amount is rounded to the nearest cent, with half cents rounded away from zero. Annual results use the unrounded scenario amount, so multiplying a displayed monthly result by 12 may differ by a few cents.

The bill you enter is an assumption, not an independently verified amount. Presets and custom percentages are scenarios. Verified facts are effective information from the sources below; announced changes remain conditional. No rebate, tariff, tax adjustment, future usage change or compounded multi-year forecast is added to the percentage-scenario arithmetic. The separate 10-year planning section extends the observed 2015–2025 provincial electricity CPI trend and can illustrate a conditional rebate using the eligible charge you supply. It is not a forecast.
